My new copy of PSP X3 is on its way and I am excited about creating and sharing new Paint Shop Pro X3 tutorials. Once I receive my copy in the mail this week I will post a review and some youtube videos of the new features. Speaking of new features, Corel Paint Shop X3 includes improved digital workflow, new advanced photo-editing tools, and built-in photo projects and sharing capabilities.
UPDATE: My in-depth review of Paint Shop Pro X3.
The price of the full version cost only $99.99, and if upgrading from PSP 10, X1, or X2 it will only cost you $59.99 to upgrade. Also customers that own Corel Paintshop Photo Express 2010 and Corel Digital Studio 2010 are eligible for the upgrade.
Click here for more details or to purchase directly from Corel’s online store.
Below is a list of new features for PSP X3 that were highlighted on the Corel’s website.

New! Vibrancy

The integrated Object Extractor isolates an object—even challenging cases
such as flyaway hair and fuzzy pet fur—so it can be copied to a new background
or a new background can be pasted behind it.
New! On-Image Text Editing
With the updated text engine, it’s easier, faster and more natural to apply
text to an image. Adjust font, color, placement, position, size and wrapping of
the text in context of the image. Reselect the text on the image and continue
typing, or apply text on a path.
New! HD Video Slideshows

Wow – I must be behind! I didn’t even now there was new version coming out!
Now I will check this out and see what new and whether it worth upgrading.
Looking forward to new tutes from you!
Thanks
I just checked out some of the videos on Corel site and I am impressed. It seems that have moved up in par with Adobe Elements suite.
I will wait though, I just got X2 Ultimate a few months back for $40 and beside I want to see what everyone else thinks. I have found somethings don’t work as well on my photos as they do on the photos in the demos!
The Smart Carver, Object Extractor and Organizer look very promising. Maybe I will try the 30 day trial…
Wanting on you Jarrod and again Thanks!
I have an early copy of PSPX3. I was so impressed with the videos that I couldn’t wait for the CD and downloaded it. Well worth it. the organizer is awesome and the carver and extractor have have reduced workload but I am still learning the tools.
I’m excited. I have been waiting for a new release for a while. I usually buy every other version. I have X1 & didn’t buy X2 considered the X2 ultimate recently. I figured X3 had to be out soon as it was over due. I am glad I waited. I saw the webinar & am totally excited with some of the new changes. Ordered by copy today. Hope to get a new computer to put it on. Until then I will use the trial version on my old comp.
I was tempted to jump ship to CS4 and/or lightroom 3 but with these changes I am very happy. The photo management reminds me of lightroom and I have found Paint Shop Pro much more user friendly!
yahooooo,
I am really happy now. i am an artist and i want this type software.
Thanks
Well? What’s the verdict? Should I upgrade from X2?
I would say, “YES!”
NOT impressed at all. Biggest downer is the new ORGANIZER. Very clumsy! Pick a photo to look at and the organizer ‘vanishes!!’ If you want to see another photo you have to re-choose the organizer button again and ‘wait painfully’ for it to open on top of your photo, hiding your first choice. Plus there is no way to look at any previous photos through the window command or anything. You have to let the organizer completely close to work on your selections. I was lucky to get in on the early release package price of 119 for the duo but think it’s back to X2 pretty soon.
Well it crashed on me twice, but I have no problem with the organizer! Other then the crashing it works fine!!!
I got X2 Ultimate for $39.99 and then X3 for $19.00.
I don’t do video as of yet so I didn’t get the duo.
I had concerns, but for what I paid, what the heck!
I guess it would depend on what version your upgrading from and how often your actually going to use it!
For some reason some people are having problems with it and for some reason some people are not!!!
You can try closing the media organizer in the task window. That seems to work for some people.
Just installed it and am impressed, except for the Help menu which takes me to a single page on-line with the PaintShop Photo Pro X3 logo on it and little else ….. 🙁
Can’t understand this as the product is registered OK.
Unfortunately, it appears that Corel has completely dropped support…period. Can’t phone (no toll free), can’t get response from live chat and certainly am not going to wait indefinitely again for email.
I purchased the two year download protection and find that it’s not available prior to the passing of the two years. So very disappointed as I have been an avid supporter of PSP for years now.
Reviewed by on January 26 2010 What you get with the latest version of PaintShop Pro is a midlevel photo editor with a low learning curve and some very nice editing and output features. The easily navigable interface puts photos front and center and surrounds them with tools and menus.
I have had just about every form of PSP from the time it was freeware. As I am running Windows 7. 64bit I got a new copy of the new PSP X3 from Corel. I am very unhappy with it as there a many problems that have come with this version of PSP. The main one that is really getting to me is that it will not scan using my Kodak all in one Printer Scanner. I have had many calls with them about this and although they have said that they agree there is a bug in the software that need a patch it has not been done. I reported this to them way back in March and they have told me that it has been sent to their main Teckies but that they have no idea when they will do anything about this problem So in the mean time I have to scan in other programes and then open the new created file in PSP, what a waist of time this is turning out to be. This version of PSP was sold to me as the one to use with Windows 7 what a pity nobody wants to get it to work as it should.
